The National Archives of Scotland (NAS):
The main archive for sources of the history of Scotland as a separate kingdom, her role in the British Isles and the links between Scotland and other countries over the centuries.

Scottish Council on Archives (SCA):
The Scottish Council on Archives is an independent body established in 2002 to co-ordinate national policy on archival issues in Scotland.

Office of the Scottish Information Commissioner:
Information on your rights under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Freedom of Information:
Information on the legislation and its implementation.

The Advisory Council on National Records and Archives:
The council advises the Lord Chancellor about public access to the records and the care of archives and manuscripts in England and Wales, the acceptance of historic papers instead of tax and the sale of documents in the UK as well as public services provided by British archives.

The National Archives Advisory Council (NAAC):
The Advisory Council for the Republic of Ireland was established in 1987 to advise ministers on matters affecting archives in Ireland.
