Coronavirus (COVID-19) Phase 3: staying safe and protecting others
Rules on staying safe and protecting others to help suppress coronavirus (COVID-19).
Overview
To stay safe and protect others we must minimise the opportunity for Coronavirus (COVID-19) to spread from one person to another. The spread of the virus has increased in recent weeks and it is necessary to take additional action to stop this.
Temporary measures are in place and will run until 06:00 on Monday 2 November.
They apply across Scotland except in the Central Belt where additional measures are in place. See: COVID-19 restrictions in your local area .
Please follow this guidance and consider your safety - and the safety of others - at all times.
When we reduce our day-to-day contact with other people, we will reduce the spread of the infection.
Regulations are in place:
- stopping some types of gatherings
- closing certain businesses, premises and venues
Every person in Scotland should comply with the measures that affect them.
The relevant authorities, including the police, have been given the powers to enforce the regulations – including through fines and dispersing gatherings.
