Coronavirus (COVID-19): ethical advice and support framework

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic may continue to put health and social care services across Scotland under unprecedented additional pressure and will require increased overall capability and capacity of the NHS in Scotland. This guidance is intended to support NHS staff with decision making during this pandemic.

It is important that given the rapidly evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, that this ethical advice and support framework is viewed in the current clinical and healthcare context. Scottish Government will aim to keep this guidance up to date, and the need for ethical support at local and national level will be kept under review.
