Latest sport and physical activity guidance

COVID-19 Update (effective from 26th December 2021 for up to 3 weeks)

The Scottish Government has today, 21 December, announced enhanced protection measures for 3 weeks starting from the 26th December 2021.  You should refer to the COVID-19 update if you plan to run large scale events (indoor and outdoor), indoor sport or hospitality services.  Otherwise please continue to follow guidance which has previously been advised.

A guide has been developed to enable Scottish Governing Bodies of Sport to develop sport-specific guidance for the Return to sport and physical activity updated 15 December 2021.  

This guidance allows for participation in a wider range of sports and physical activity. During participation you should ensure you are applying physical distancing and good hygiene rules and following all other Scottish Government COVID-19 guidance.

You should follow the latest sport-specific guidance as published below.
