Within the regulations there are still mandatory requirements - specifically around face coverings in certain indoor areas, subject to exemptions and exceptions, and Test and Protect collection of customer details in some settings and the requirement to have regard to guidance issued by the Scottish Ministers about measures to minimise the risk of exposure to coronavirus and take reasonable measures to reduce the risk of transmission in premises.
Regulators and police will continue their current enforcement role for these requirements under the regulations following the 4 E’s approach, engage, explain, encourage and, as a last resort, enforce.
