Constitutional Reform

The Smith Commission, chaired by Lord Smith of Kelvin, is now considering proposals submitted by the Scottish Government in the document: More Powers for the Scottish Parliament.

The proposals for further powers have been set out following the outcome of the September 18 Referendum. They focus on equipping the Scottish Parliament to create more jobs, tackle inequality and protect public services.

Four political parties in Scotland have made separate submissions to the Smith Commission.

Lord Smith has said he intends to publish a unified set of proposals on the way forward by the end of November.
