Case Studies - Margdow

Margdow is one of many townships located on on the north side of Loch Tay in the Central Highlands of Scotland. The remains now lie on Carie Farm.

The township was surveyed and recorded in 2000 by RCAHMS in partnership with the National Trust for Scotland. This investigation was part of a preliminary study for the Ben Lawers Historic Landscape project, which aimed to

understand the remains and what they have to tell us about people in the past;

use established and new scientific techniques to find out more;

involve people locally and from further afield in this work;

and ultimately to use this information to help conserve the landscape for future generations to understand and enjoy.

Further information about the Ben Lawers Historic Landscape Project can be found on the project website, and includes a section on how about how schools were involved in the project - http://www.benlawers.org.uk
