Zoom in on this interactive online map to locate Scotland’s archaeological and historic sites.

Locate details of archaeological and historic sites held in Scotland’s national and local historic environment records.

PastMap is an interactive online map that you can zoom in on to find specific types of site in your area of interest. For example, you can activate different layers on the map to highlight all listed buildings or local authority sites and monuments.

Layers can also show the extent of, among other things:

  • scheduled monuments
  • conservation areas
  • Inventory battlefields
  • Inventory gardens and designed landscapes
