Child Poverty, Health and Wellbeing - The Gathering

The Gathering is a unique opportunity for people in the third sector to meet, connect and share ideas.

As part of NHS Health Scotland’s strategic focus on reducing health inequalities in Scotland, a priority area is helping to eradicate child poverty.   NHS Health Scotland gave an overview of child poverty and its impact on health and wellbeing and discussed the role of the NHS, working in partnership with the third sector, to mitigate the effects of child poverty.

We also showcased the Child poverty, health and wellbeing eLearning module developed by NHS Health Scotland with partners. This learning resource aims to raise awareness of child poverty issues in Scotland, the impact poverty has on children and young people’s health and wellbeing. The module is relevant for all working across health, social care, education and the public sector who are in contact with children at work.  Learners can access the module for free by self-enrolling onto Health Scotland’s Virtual Learning Environment at https://elearning.healthscotland.com/course/view.php?id=523.

The presentations from the day are now available to download.
