Engagement with other regulators

Local Authorities should use their business-as-usual local Police Scotland teams to support intelligence gathering and a risk-based approach to enforcement following the 4 E’s approach. Joint working and visits conducted together will be for the two organisations to determine based on prioritisation and resourcing.

We would also expect local authorities to use other available intelligence sources. In particular, local licensing standards officers may not currently be engaged in coronavirus enforcement but may be engaging with many of the businesses covered.
