Get involved

We want to everyone in Scotland to be involved in our work, whatever language they use.

You can use any language (including BSL) to:

  • write, email or send BSL videos to the Scottish Parliament or your MSPs
  • send in a petition
  • send your views to a committee

You can ask us to translate our information into the language you use.

You can ask for an interpreter if you:

  • are invited to come and speak to a committee meeting
  • want to engage with parliament business in your preferred language

If you want to discuss something with an MSP, you can ask them to arrange an interpreter for a meeting.

Please give us as much notice as possible if you need an interpreter.

Information in other languages

You can see some of our information in other languages on our archive website. We are working on updating this information and moving it to this site.

Language plans

The plans tell you what we will do to support and develop the use of these languages in the Parliament.

Language policy

We will be updating our language policy in 2021. This page will have more information on the new policy when it’s available.
